Award for Waste Consultant of the Year 2005”
On 8/9 June 2006, the annual Waste Consultant Network Conference took place in Lienz. At the event, jointly organised by the Environment Ministry and the Austrian Association of Waste Consultants (VABÖ), the ARA award for Waste Consultant of the Year 2005 was presented. The prize was being awarded for the 9th time by ARA and the magazine Umweltschutz, and once again it included three categories: ‘Successful Projects’, ‘Future Projects’ and ‘Personal Lifetime Commitment’. > more about: Award for Waste Consultant of the Year 2005”

Youth Action Day and award ceremony for school waste reduction competition
The action day organised on 2 June 2006 in the run-up to World Environment Day, by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with ARA-System, focused on young people. As part of the ‘Jugendimpulse 2020’ event, some 100 young people got together with eminent experts in parliament to discuss the key issues of future environmental policy: waste, transport, food, water, energy and climate. During the major event in Vienna, eight schools received awards from Environment Minister Josef Pröll and the managing director of ARA, Christian Stiglitz, for their outstanding submissions to the school waste reduction competition ‘Abfall vermeiden macht jetzt Schule!’. > more about: Youth Action Day and award ceremony for school waste reduction competition
